Top Tips To Get Fit Quickly And Easily

Time to work off the holiday weight and get back in shape for all the adventures to come over the next year. But getting fit quickly is easier said than done, or so you might think.

Here are some top tips to help you get fit quick, but in a way that’s not too painful.

Do exercise you enjoy

There’s tons of advice out there about which exercises will help you get fit quickly, but the chances are, if you’re not enjoying exercising (not even a little bit), you’re not going to stick with it.

Okay, so you might be thinking that you don’t enjoy any type of exercise, but there’ll at least be some things that you prefer doing to others. So stick to the workouts that you enjoy, or the ones that are at least bearable.

Even if they’re not as effective as other exercises, if you’re happy to do them regularly they’ll do more for your fitness than doing the odd exercise you hate.

Make your home exercise friendly

It’s easy to say ‘I’m too busy to exercise’, but if you work exercise into your everyday routine, there’s no excuse.

Let’s say you’re watching TV, have a resistance band, skipping rope, or a set of weights in the lounge. That way, you can do exercise whist watching your favourite show. Same goes for when you’re cooking. Whilst you’re waiting for water to boil, or waiting for something to finish in the microwave, grab some weights, or do some sit ups, whatever you fancy!

Set clear and achievable goals

You might be reading this and thinking that getting fit quick is exactly what you want from this year, but that’s not a specific enough goal.

Set yourself a clear goal, that can be measured, monitored and met. For example, if you want to be able to run for 10 minutes without stopping, make that your goal. Or if you want to be able to lift a certain weight, or do a certain number of reps of an exercise. The point is, you need a goal to work towards where your progress can be tracked.

And when setting your goal, try and make it realistic! Yes you want to shoot for the stars, but you also want to stand a chance of achieving your goal. Otherwise, you’re more likely to give up on it.
