Submission Guidelines

Kent Lifestyle Magazine welcomes submissions from businesses, venues, event organisers and other organisations with something relevant to people living in or visiting Kent.

These guidelines apply to content submitted for inclusion within our business directory, What’s On guide and other user-submitted areas of the website.

Submission does not guarantee publication.

What We Accept

Submissions should have a genuine connection to Kent and be useful or relevant to our audience.

This may include:

Kent-based businesses.
Businesses serving customers within Kent.
Events taking place within Kent.
Attractions, venues and experiences.
Local organisations and community activities.
Other listings that we consider relevant to Kent Lifestyle Magazine readers.

Business Listings

Business information should be accurate and current.

You should provide appropriate information such as your business name, location, description, category, contact details, website and images where requested.

Please do not:

Create duplicate listings for the same business.
Add misleading locations purely to appear in additional areas.
Use excessive promotional language or keyword stuffing.
Claim services, accreditations or awards that cannot be substantiated.
Submit another business without authority to represent it where account ownership or management is being requested.

We may categorise or edit listings to maintain consistency across the directory.

Claiming a Business

You may only claim a business listing if you are the owner or have authority to manage the listing on behalf of the business.

We may request reasonable evidence of your connection to the business before approving a claim.

Submitting a claim does not automatically transfer control of a listing.

We reserve the right to reject or revoke a claim where ownership or authority cannot reasonably be verified.

Event Submissions

Events should take place in Kent or have a clear and substantial connection to Kent.

Please provide accurate information including, where applicable:

Event name.
Date and start time.
Venue and location.
Event description.
Featured image.
Ticket price or pricing information.
Booking or ticket link.
Relevant event category.
Age restrictions or important entry conditions.

Recurring events should be clearly identified as such.

Please notify us if an event is cancelled, postponed or materially changed after submission.

Event Descriptions

Descriptions should be clear, factual and useful to readers.

Avoid excessive capitalisation, repeated promotional claims, keyword stuffing or content that reads primarily as an advertisement.

We may edit descriptions for length, spelling, grammar, consistency or presentation without changing their material meaning.

Images

Images should be of sufficient quality for publication and should accurately represent the business, venue or event being submitted.

By uploading an image, you confirm that:

You own the image or have permission to use it.
Kent Lifestyle Magazine has permission to display it in connection with the submitted listing or event.
The image does not infringe another person’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.

We may crop, resize or optimise images for different parts of the website.

Where possible, avoid images containing excessive text, promotional graphics, watermarks or low-resolution artwork.

Content We Do Not Accept

We may reject submissions containing:

False or materially misleading information.
Illegal products, services or activities.
Fraudulent or deceptive promotions.
Defamatory content.
Hate speech or discriminatory content.
Explicit sexual content.
Content encouraging violence or unlawful behaviour.
Material that infringes intellectual property rights.
Malicious links, malware or spam.
Content that we consider unsuitable for a general lifestyle publication.

We may also decline submissions that fall outside the geographical or editorial scope of Kent Lifestyle Magazine.

Free Listings

Where free submission is available, publication remains subject to review and approval.

A free submission does not guarantee:

Publication.
A particular position within listings.
Permanent inclusion.
Search engine visibility.
Editorial coverage.
Promotion through our newsletter or social media channels.

Listings may be updated, repositioned or removed as the website develops.

Featured and Promoted Listings

Some submissions can be upgraded through paid Featured or promotional options.

Paying for additional promotion can increase the visibility of a listing but does not exempt it from these Submission Guidelines.

Paid placements are also subject to our Advertising & Commercial Terms.

Editorial Coverage

Submitting a business or event does not guarantee editorial coverage within Kent Lifestyle Magazine.

Directory and event submissions are separate from our independent editorial process.

Our editorial team decides which businesses, destinations, events and subjects to feature within articles and guides.

Editing and Moderation

To keep the website consistent and useful, we may:

Correct spelling or formatting.
Shorten or restructure descriptions.
Select an appropriate category.
Remove duplicated information.
Replace unsuitable images.
Correct obvious factual errors.
Remove expired events.
Remove listings that are no longer relevant or operating.

Where a proposed change would materially alter information supplied by you, we may contact you for clarification where appropriate.

Accuracy and Updates

You are responsible for ensuring information you submit is accurate when submitted.

Businesses and event organisers should update their information or contact us when important details change.

Kent Lifestyle Magazine cannot guarantee that user-submitted or third-party information will remain accurate indefinitely.

Rights to Submitted Content

You retain ownership of your original content.

By submitting material, you give Kent Lifestyle Magazine permission to use, reproduce, resize, format, edit and display it in connection with the relevant listing, event and reasonable promotion of Kent Lifestyle Magazine.

Removal Requests

If you are authorised to represent a business, venue or event and believe information should be corrected or removed, please contact us.

We may ask you to verify your connection to the organisation before processing certain requests.

Repeated Abuse

Accounts or users repeatedly submitting spam, misleading information, duplicate listings or otherwise breaching these guidelines may have their ability to submit content restricted or removed.
