Pantomimes are one of the best parts of the Christmas season. There’s nothing better than an all singing, all dancing performance for all the family. Children and adults alike love to boo, cheer and join in the panto fun. So here are some of the best pantomimes in Kent this year to complete your Christmas.
Peter Pan, Maidstone Studios
When: 15th December 2017 – 6th January 2018
Peter Pan is a storyline that all family members love, and you can see it brought to life in a fun and interactive way at the Maidstone Panto.
The all-star cast won’t disappoint, with two X Factor finalists, Lloyd Daniels (Peter Pan) and Amelia Lily (Tinker Bell), Hollyoaks actor James Sutton playing Captain Hook and many more!
Cinderella, Orchard Theatre, Dartford
When: 9th December – 31st December 2017
Dartford’s best pantomime this year will be Cinderella, and it’s another panto with an impressive cast. Louie Spence will take to the stage as Dandini, Eastenders’ star Michelle Collins (Cindy Beale) will play the wicked stepmother, and Sweeney Todd actress Jayne Wisener as Cinderella. There will also be the hilarious Phil Butler playing the lovable Buttons.
If you’re interested in seeing this pantomime though be sure to book your tickets early! This one doesn’t run for quite as long as some other pantomimes in Kent.
Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs, The Stag Theatre, Sevenoaks
When: 1st December 2017 – 7th January 2018
This all time favourite fairy tale will be performed in true panto style at the Stag Theatre in Sevenoaks. With a cast full of TV presenters (Ed Petrie, Bob Carolgees, and of course his sidekick Spit the dog!) and talented stars including Britain’s Got Talent’s Danny Beard and Keith Jack from the West End.
Peter Pan, The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury
When: 24th November 2017 – 14th January 2018
Another performance of Peter Pan will take place in Canterbury, at the Marlowe Theatre. Eastenders’ Shaun Williamson and Coronation Street’s Wendi Peters will take to the stage with some favourite children’s TV personalities, including Gemma Hunt, David Ribi and Samantha Dorrance.
This panto may have a slightly longer running time than most, but last year’s performance of Dick Whittington was seen by over 95,000 people, so you might want to get your tickets early!
Aladdin, Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells
When: 8th December 2017 – 3rd January 2018
Aladdin is a classic storyline, and one that makes a great pantomime. And this year, you can see it performed by a star-studded cast in Tunbridge Wells.
Eastenders’ fans will be pleased to see Michael Greco, otherwise known as Walford Square’s former bad boy, Beppe Di Marco, on stage alongside Britain’s Got Talent’s star Jess Robinson. Mark Rhodes, best known for his role as a CBBC presenter, will play the star of the show: Aladdin.
Cinderella, Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone
When: 1st – 31st December 2017
This Cinderella pantomime is set to be one to remember. Celebrity chef Rustie Lee (The Real Marigold Hotel) will play the fairy godmother, and Adam Borzone and Stephen Richards are set to put on a hilarious performance of the ugly sisters. And as for Cinderella and her Prince Charming, you’ll get to Elizabeth Bright and Stefan Booth portraying the lovable characters.
Beauty and The Beast, Shallows Leisure Centre, Sittingbourne
When: 15th – 27th December 2017
After the popular remake of Beauty and the Beast earlier this year, we’re all still desperate to see the tale performed again, and at Shallows Leisure Centre, we can! This panto will only run for just under two weeks though, so if you’re keen to see this one, make sure you book in advance.
You also won’t be disappointed with the cast of this pantomime. Alex Reid, celebrity Big Brother winner, will play the horrible Gaston, and Harry Moore will be returning as Dame Dumpling.
