Somehow, most of the year has already flown by, and we’re now in the run up to Christmas.
With the festive cheer just beginning, there are plenty of Christmas events and attractions to look forward to. Christmas markets are a great day out, and the perfect way to get in the festive mood, so here are some Christmas markets around Kent that you don’t want to miss.
Rochester Castle Christmas market
When: Every weekend from the 25th November
Where: Rochester Castle
Rochester Castle’s annual Christmas market is popular with people in all corners of the country, not just us here in Kent.
You can shop, eat and drink, or if you’re feeling particularly festive join in with carol singing. The kids can meet Father Christmas, and if you head there on the first weekend of December, it will also be the annual Rochester Dickensian Christmas Festival. So prepare to be thrown back in time!
Faversham Christmas market
When: 26th November, 10th and 17th December
Where: Faversham Market Place
Faversham Christmas market is the perfect place to pick up local produce and locally made gifts. There’ll also be live music, carol singing, and you might even see some donkeys about!
Gravesend Frost Fair
When: Every weekend from the 25th November
Where: Gravesend Borough Market
This is a Christmas market that’s so magical you could go there again and again. They have a different theme every weekend, so there’s always something new to be seen.
You can expect gift stalls, as well as arts and crafts, and of course delicious food stands.
Leeds Castle Christmas market
When: Every weekend from the 25th November
Where: Leeds Castle grounds
Events at Leeds Castle never fail to disappoint. How could they when they’re held in such a beautiful place?
Not only will there be the traditional gifts, crafts, and food stalls, but you can also enjoy birds of prey displays, a fun fair, and bandstand performances.
Tenterden Christmas Market
When: 24th and 25th November
Where: Tenterden High Street
Tenterden is often referred to as one of Ken’t prettiest towns, and come Friday 24th November, you can enjoy a Christmas market there.
The market will be in full swing from 12-9pm on Friday, and from 10am-8pm on Saturday, so it’s a fun event for people of all ages, no matter what your bedtime.
Canterbury Christmas market
When: Whitefriars
Where: 25th November – 24th December
Canterbury is a beautiful city, so this Christmas market only makes it more magical. You can take in the festive vibe with a glass of mulled wine, or do some serious Christmas shopping around the 50 cabins.
