There’s nothing better than a day out where you give something back as well. Kent always has some charity or fundraising events that make a great day out for the family.
Here are some upcoming charity events that will have you smiling, laughing, bonding, and most importantly, helping the less fortunate.
KM Assault Course Challenge
Bettleshanger Country Park, Deal, Sunday 8th October 2017
Whatever age you are, this is bound to be one of the best days out you’ve had in a while. Kids get the chance to be active and get muddy, and grown ups have a welcomed excuse to do the same.
You’ll get to work your way through a muddy obstacle course, working as part of team, bonding with your family and making new friends.
Anyone over the age of 14 can join in, and fundraise for a good cause. It’s recommended that each participant raises as much as they can, £75 each is the goal. The best part is with this event is that you can choose with charity you donate your money to, so you can have fun at the same time as donating to a cause that you believe in.
Scary Halloween Fun Run
Mote Park, Maidstone, Friday 27th October 2017
This definitely isn’t one to be missed. The scary halloween fun run can be walked, jogged or run, so it’s suitable for anyone.
Wear your best halloween outfit, and prepare to be scared by spooky sound effects, creepy costumes, and UV foam attacks!
It’s £20 to enter, but you’ll have the spookiest night whilst also raising money for Demelza.
Maidstone Abseil
Thomas Place, Maidstone, Sunday 12th November 2017
This charity event is only for those aged 16 and above, because there’s a little more involved with this one. You’ll need to fundraise the same £75, but then, you’ll abseil down a 100ft drop. Scary, right? But not many people can say they’ve abseiled down the side of a building.
This is another event where you can choose which charity the majority of your raised money goes to.
KM Big Charity Quiz
Maidstone Leisure Centre, Friday 17th November 2017
Everyone loves a quiz, and with this quiz, you can give to a charity at the same time as showing off your knowledge. The way this event is used to fundraise is through the bar at the quiz. It’s run by volunteers, so for every drink you buy, the profits will go to charity.
To enter you’ll need a team of up to 8 people, and it’s £65 per team. But you’ll have nibbles and a bottle of a wine on your team’s table, and there are prizes to be won!
