With Halloween and Bonfire Night over, this week brings some welcome peace and quiet before the Christmas rush kicks in. But that’s not to say that there aren’t plenty of events to attend this week.
Jazz Supper With Richard Rozze
When: Tuesday 7th November, 7:30pm-10:30pm
Where: Pegwell Bay Hotel, Ramsgate
If you’re a fan of jazz, this is an event you don’t want to miss. You can enjoy live jazz with local and successful guitarist Richard Rozze and the Jazznights Ensemble, whilst tucking into a delicious supper.
The Kent Police Male Voice Choir
When: Wednesday 8th November, 7:30pm
Where: Rochester Cathedral
If you’re interested to hear what nearly 50 local policemen sound like in a choir, now is your chance to find out. The group will be performing at Rochester Cathedral, and the money they raise will be donated to a charitable cause. So it’s a good event to head to if you appreciate music, and want to support your community and a good cause.
Big Charity Quiz
When: Friday 10th November, 7pm-9pm
Where: Rainham School For Girls
This is another fun charitable event, only this time to raise money for Hi Kent, a local charity for those that are deaf or hard of hearing.
You can enter with a team of up to 6 people, so bring along your friends or family and it’s sure to be a night of good fun and healthy competition. The money you pay to enter will not only be donated to charity, but you’ll also receive a Ploughman’s supper.
The Freewheel Roller Racing Winter Series
When: Friday 10th November, 7pm
Where: The Freewheel Pub, Graveney, Near Faversham
This is a monthly event that will take place between November and March, so this month’s event will be the first of the series. Cycling clubs across Kent will be invited to take part, and there are prizes to be won, so it should be a fun event to attend and cheer on local cyclists.
Abbey Patchers Christmas Craft Fair
When: Saturday 11th November, 9am-1pm
Where: Old Schools, Minster
If you’re already buzzing for Christmas, this is the perfect event for you. You can join in with making Christmas crafts, or simply enjoy the refreshments, tombolo and gift stalls.
Autumn Craft Fair Plus…
When: Saturday 11th November, 11:15am-2:30pm
Where: St Lawrence’s Church, Maidstone
Winter might be coming, but some of us aren’t quite ready to wave goodbye to autumn. This Autumn Craft Fair is a great day out for the whole family – there are traditional games to be played, a tombola and a raffle to try your luck with, and lots of gift and jewellery stalls to browse.
Remembrance Day Events and Services
As well as exciting events though, this week is also a week for us to stop and remember. This weekend will bring about Remembrance Day. So keep reading for more information on what Remembrance events and services there will be around the county.
As well as these events and services, people across the world will fall silent for two minutes at 11am on November 11th.
Remembrance Day Concert
When: Saturday 11th November, 7pm-9:30pm
Where: Mid Kent College, Gillingham
WE CAN SING UK will be putting on a concert with our Kent choirs at Mid Kent College to support and remember our troops. The concert will get the whole family involved, and pay respects to soldiers past and present with a fun and engaging event.
Ramsgate Wreath Laying Ceremony and Service of Remembrance
When: Saturday 11th November, 8:30am
Where: Albion Gardens, Ramsgate
There will be a wreath laying ceremony, and then a service of remembrance in the town centre.
Youth Festival Of Remembrance
When: Saturday 11th November
Where: Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone
The Youth Festival of Remembrance will feature displays from sea, army, and air cadets, as well as local dance, gymnastic and choir groups.
Dover Remembrance Parade
When: Sunday 12th November
Where: Dover War Memorial
This is the town’s annual remembrance parade. Wreath laying will take place at Dover War Memorial.
Dymchurch Remembrance Parade
When: Sunday 12th November, 10:30am
Where: The War Memorial in New Hall Close
The parade will start with the Royal British Legion Club, and will take place on the sea wall to the war memorial.
Gillingham Services and Wreath Laying
When: Sunday 12th November, from 8:45am
The Great Lines Naval Memorial will begin at 8:45am, after which the Gillingham Black Lion Memorial will form up at 9:45am. There will then be a service of remembrance, wreath laying, and a parade to St Mark’s Church. At 11am, a wreath will be laid at Brompton Memorial.
Hythe Remembrance Parade
When: Sunday 12th November, from 10:20am
Where: Hythe High Street
The service of remembrance will be held at Hythe War Memorial. Then there will be a remembrance parade up the High Street to the Town Hall.
Paddock Wood Remembrance Parade
When: Sunday 12th November, 9:30am
Where: The service will be held at St Andrew’s Church, and the parade will continue on to the War Memorial.
Ramsgate Remembrance Parade
When: Sunday 12th November, 10:40am
The parade will start at Elms Avenue and then continue through Queens Street, Kings Street and Broad Street.
There will also be a wreath laying ceremony and service at St George’s Church at 10:50am.
Sevenoaks Service of Remembrance

Where: Sevenoaks War Memorial on The Vine
Tunbridge Wells Remembrance Parade
