What’s On In Kent This Week?

It’s the last week before half term, which is when the family fun really begins. But if you’re looking for some events or attractions to ease yourself into the upcoming week of excited children, family time, and the not-so-exciting daytime traffic, then you’ll be pleased to hear that there’s a fair amount going on in Kent this week.

Canterbury Festival 2017

When? 14th October – 4th November 

Where: Various venues across Canterbury

The Canterbury Festival 2017 kicked off last week, and after a successful start, it’s now in full swing.

There are several entertaining events coming up in different venues across Canterbury. So if you’re looking for something to do over the next couple of weeks, it’s worth seeing what this festival has got going on. There are events scheduled until the 4th November.

The Chinese State Circus

When: 17th-22nd October

Where: Jackson’s Recreation Ground, Rochester, ME1 1DU 

The Chinese State Circus is a renowned circus that gives a show ‘like no other’. You’ll be impressed, excited, thrilled and in absolute awe.

The circus comes to town in Rochester, as part of its UK tour, so you can see the circus in Kent from Tuesday 17th to Sunday 22nd October. There are both afternoon and evening shows, so it’s a fun day out for everyone, no matter what age!

Fleetwood Bac The Fleetwood Mac Tribute Show

When: 20th October

Where? Alexander Centre, Faversham, Kent

With the slogan ‘Mac is Bac’, Fleetwood Bac is a popular Fleetwood Mac tribute act, and you’ll have the chance to see the band live at the Alexander Centre in Faversham.

This is a great event for that love a good sing-along and boogie to some well-loved music.

Creepy Castle Trail

When: 21st-29th October

Where: Rochester Castle, Kent

For those that want to start the halloween celebrations early, the creepy castle trail at Rochester Castle opens this week.

Whilst the name of the event might sound a little spooky, this is a great day out for the kids. Entrance is only 80p, and there’s history to be learnt as well as prizes to be won.

Haunted Castle – Dover Castle

When: 21st-29th October

Where: Dover Castle, Kent

This is another halloween events that opens this week, and it’s sure to be a fun day full of fancy dress, arts and crafts, and spooky ghost stories. What better place to get in the halloween spirit than a castle?

Dover and District Beekeeper’s Association Honey Show

When: 21st October

Where: Shepherdswell Village Hall, Cox Hill, Shepherdswell, Dover, CT157N

If you fancy some local honey, or if you’re a beekeeper at heart, this is the perfect event for you. Local beekeepers and their honey will compete for trophies, and you can buy local products and beekeeping related items as well.

This event is a great way to show support for local businesses, and get involved with the community.
