Top January Challenges To Undertake

It’s the first month of the new year, and it’s a time that many of us see as a fresh start. There are plenty of challenges and 30-day programs that can help kickstart a new lifestyle choice, or change an old bad habit.

Here are a few of the best January challenges to take part in this year.

The ‘photo a day’ challenge

This one isn’t so much about a lifestyle change, it’s more about reflecting on and watching change. The idea is, you taking a photo every day and post it on your social media profile.

Different people interpret this challenge in different way. So some use it for body confidence, whilst others use it to keep a physical record of how they’ve spent each day.

So whether you take a picture of yourself, or what you’re doing, it’s really up to you how you want to use this challenge. One thing’s for sure though, taking a picture each day encourages you to get up and about every day – even on Sundays!

Veganuary

Veganuary is encouraging people to go vegan for the month of January. No meat, no dairy, no animal products at all.

It sounds hard, and it will be a challenge, but it’s a great way of trying a new lifestyle and diet. You’ll also start to better understand the rising movement of veganism, and make your own mind up about whether or not it’s the way to go.

Dry January

People all over the world have given ‘dry January’ a go, for reasons ranging from health to fundraising.

It’s a pretty well known January challenge, and quite a few people give it a go each year. So if you do decide to go sober for the month, you won’t be on your own.

If you want to take on this challenge for charity, Cancer Research have labelled their version of the challenge ‘dryathlon’. The idea is that basically you get sponsored for not touching a drop of alcohol for the whole month. Then the money you raise will go to Cancer Research. Or, if you do it independently, you could donate the money to a charity of your choice.
