If you’re at a loss for what to do this week, you’ll be pleased to hear there’s a lot going on around the county. A lot of this week’s events are festivals and fairs, so if that’s your cup of tea then you’re in for a treat!
So what’s this week got in store us?
Autumn Food and Drink Fayre, Hempstead Valley
Dates: 9thth-15th October
This event will have foodies’ mouths watering. The shopping centre will be full of stalls offering delicious and often locally made foods.
Whether you’re a sweet or savoury person you’re bound to find something that looks so tasty that you go weak at the knees. From jams and sauces, to cakes and sweets, to bread, cheese and fruit, there’s so much to try.
The fayre is open between 9am and 8pm on weekdays, 9am to 7pm on Saturday, and 10am to 4am on Sunday.
Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival
Dates: 13th-14th October
If you thought puppet shows were just for children, think again. Tunbridge Wells Puppetry Festival will see a series of fun events for all the family. There are shows to make you laugh, shows that can be educational, and shows that can get a bit emotional, so there really is something for everyone.
The different events of the festival will be held at different venues across the town, but most events will be held in the Assembly Hall, the Trinity Theatre, or The Pantiles.
Canterbury Festival
Dates: 14th October-4th November
This year’s Canterbury Festival will kick off on Saturday 14th October. This is one of the most diverse festivals you’ll find in Kent, and one of the most enjoyable!
There’s live music and performances, inspiring and educational talks, art to be seen and scientific demonstrations to watch.
There are several venues across the city, it just depends on what events you want to see. But you can be sure that if you’re spending any time in Canterbury over the next couple of weeks, you won’t be short of things to do or see!
Inspiral Festival, Gravesend
Dates: 12th-15th October
The Inspiral Festival 2017 will see Kent and North Kent host to a number of talks, walks and art exhibitions. The full programme ranges from Gravesend to London, and explores the connection that Kent has with London.
Pumpkin moon, Old Chatham Road, Sandling
Dates: 14th-15th October
This is a fun day out for the whole family. You can discover and learn about a whole range of different types of pumpkins, squash and gourd. It’s the perfect autumn event, and a great way to build up the excitement about Halloween and pumpkin carving. There’s also a maize maze, face painting, pumpkin painting and food stalls.
The event is open from 10am to 4pm.
